TERANEX EXPANDS MINI LINE WITH STANDARDS CONVERTER

Orlando, FL. (March 28, 2006)  - Teranex, a division of Silicon Optix and leader in providing high performance solutions for the broadcast and post production market, today announced they will be showing a new member of the Mini product line at the 2006 NAB Convention in Las Vegas.  The product, a Mini Standards Converter, is a portable, low cost 50/60 Hz Standards Converter that brings the quality of the post production level Teranex solutions to the mass market with a palm sized “use anywhere” package.  The Teranex Mini can be used as a standalone portable standards converter, or three Minis can be rack-mounted on a 1RU shelf.

“With the growth in demand for repurposing content between continents, the desire for a low cost standards converter has been a popular request by our customers,” said Jed Deame, Co-founder and General Manager of Teranex.  “I am pleased we are now able to provide a high quality low cost solution for this important growing market segment.”

Like the original Mini DTV Format Converter, this platform is based on the new Silicon Optix Realta HQV™ chip, the award winning video processor from Teranex’s parent company.  “The Realta HQV chip was developed over the past 3 years at a cost of $30 Million with the goal of bringing the power of the Teranex platform to a single chip,“ continued Deame.  “This level of price/performance is unmatched anywhere in the industry, and probably will be for some time.”

Teranex’s fully programmable, trillions-of-operations-per-second video processing systems have been adopted by thousands of the most quality conscious broadcasters and post-production houses worldwide.

The Teranex Mini Standards Converter will be shipping worldwide in the May/June timeframe.

Please visit NAB South Hall 4, Booth SU-4783 to view the newest platforms and applications from Teranex.
