Teranex mini™ Recipient of STAR Award at NAB 2007 in Las Vegas.

Orlando, Florida. (May 1st, 2007) – Teranex, a leader in high performance video processing solutions for the broadcast and post-production industries, is pleased to announce its mini Format Converter was awarded a prestigious STAR award at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas.

Now in its eighth year, the STAR Awards (for Superior Technology Award Recipient ) are designed to celebrate and showcase the preeminent technological innovations available to the media industry. A panel of judges consisting of TV Technology editors and columnists reviewed a variety of products and services, examined the technical applications and their overall contribution to the industry, and then submitted their award nominees.

"Every year, the NAB show serves as the launching pad for thousands of new products and services for audio and video professionals," said Tom Butts, TV Technology Editor. "Our panel of editors walked the show floor in search of the most innovative technologies. The products and services that we selected for the STAR Award made the cut--they demonstrated their ability to help advance the acquisition and distribution of entertainment and information across the media spectrum."

Offered in a variety of capabilities and flavors, the mini converts SD video to and from HD in real time with exceptional image quality. At the heart of the mini is Silicon Optix’s 1 trillion operations per second programmable RealtaTM image processing engine, reducing overall size while maximizing image process-format converter. Real-time processing saves unimaginable time, especially when compared to CPU limited, non real-time scaling and frame rate conversion available through non-linear editing and video effects software applications.

The Mini is part of a growing family of Realta-based products from Teranex, prices start at about $3K. The mini is a must for any time- or budget-conscious professional looking to maximize returns on production costs.

Some of the mini Features:

- Legendary Teranex Processing
- Available HD & SD Noise Reducers with ARC
- Supports VITC
- Easy Setup & Front Panel User Interface
- Available 4-field SD/HD Linear Frame-rate Conversion
- Supports 23.98/24PSF @ Input
